Violin/viola lessons and beginners keyboard lessons

I have been studying music since I was 7 years old. I studied ABRSM examinations (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and attained Grade 8 Violin and Grade 8 Viola and Grade 3 Piano. I was born in Buckinghamshire, England and emigrated to Australia in 2011. I enjoy the way of life here and have met some amazing people. I have been teaching privately and in schools for the past 14 years. I enjoy teaching both children 4+ and adults. For some of my students just playing favourite tunes on the violin is their dream but for others, they may wish to challenge themselves with ABRSM examinations. I pride myself on being the teacher that I always wanted to have teach me, as a young child learning. I believe that music should be enjoyable and not be a chore. If you make it a chore then students will not practice and you will not get the results you are aiming for. I adapt my way of teaching depending on the student. They may find certain things easy and other things difficult and I will find the best way for them to achieve their goals. I have taught many students over the years and have entered over 100 students for ABRSM examinations with great results. Some of my students have been 'special needs' students, but this has not stopped them from achieving their goals and fulfilling their dreams. It is amazing that despite their own difficulties some have managed to pass ABRSM exams and for the others it has brought a smile to their faces when they have played a favourite or difficult piece of music. I am in awe of their determination and their unwillingness to give up when faced with challenges.
